The Quality Control Technician is responsible for assisting Quality and in day-to-day activities to ensure affective product design and implementation. He/she has a basic understanding of Quality System Regulations as provided by CrossRoads and facilitates improvements to the quality system while providing technical quality/R&D engineering support to research and development and manufacturing. The Quality Control Technician serves as a Quality Inspector for incoming components, raw material, and services. This position is responsible for supporting R&D, Quality and Manufacturing during all product development phases and performing tasks as outlined by QIPs, Work Instructions or OMS.

Overall Responsibilities

Perform inspection requirements on incoming, in-process and finished products using inspection documentation, internal & external specifications, prints & sampling plans.

Identification and segregation of non-conforming materials products.

Provide feedback on improvements to inspection and testing methods.

Evaluate product/material discrepancies and implement corrective actions accordingly.

Participate on Internal quality audits as requested.

Inspection of packaging and labeling materials used for medical devices.

Perform DHR review including document verification.

Other duties as assigned such as RMAs, Production verification support, Document Control, etc.

Know and follow all laws and policies that apply to one’s job and maintain the highest levels of professionalism, ethics, and compliance always.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of 1-2 years previous quality control experience in Medical Device or other regulated industry, Experience in use of Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gages, Comparators, etc.

Willingness to learn basic quality systems regulations such as Quality Systems Requirements and ISO.

Attention to detail.

Proficient technical writing Skills and use of documentation programs (Microsoft Office, Excel, Access, Power Point, GDP, etc.).

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop trust, respect, and confidence with internal and external customers.

Must have good "mechanical sense" and hands-on approach to creative problem solving.

Candidate must be self-motivated with communication skills and an excellent work ethic.

Familiar with and/or willing to learn design control activities (Design Reviews, Risk Analysis, etc.).

Familiarity or willingness to learn all aspects of the product commercialization process, including Quality, Regulatory, & Design.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of 1-2 years previous quality control experience in Medical Device or other regulated industry.

1-2 years of college education working towards completion of a technical degree.

ASQ Certified Quality Inspector preferred.

Familiarity with machine setting and basic machining a plus.
