Assistant Project Manager – Building Envelope (Restoration)
Please note: This is not an IT or general project management position. Applicants with no experience in façade or building envelope restoration will not be considered.
A leading building envelope consultancy in New York City is seeking an
Assistant Project Manager
with
direct experience
in
façade and building envelope restoration
of
existing buildings
(not new construction). With over 30 years of experience restoring NYC landmarks like the Flatiron Building and Empire State Building, the firm offers exposure to high-profile projects and a long-term career path.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in managing restoration projects on existing mid- to high-rise buildings
Coordinate field and office activities, ensuring compliance with NYC DOB and client standards
Monitor project budgets, timelines, and documentation
Support communication with clients, consultants, and internal teams
Participate in site visits, inspections, and progress reporting
Must-Have Requirements
Minimum 2-3 years of hands‑on experience in façade or building envelope restoration
Experience must be in the construction/restoration field
(not IT, software, or unrelated PM roles)
Bachelor’s degree in
Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, or Construction Management
Familiarity with
NYC DOB filings, local façade codes (FISP/LL11), and restoration practices
Valid driver’s license (vehicle use may be required)
OSHA and scaffold certifications a plus
