Qualifications
Valid State of Michigan Teaching Certificate with a ZA or ZS endorsement preferred. Minimum of a BA or BS in early childhood education or child development required.
Training in The Creative Curriculum and early childhood assessment instruments preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and administrators, and to respond sensitively to culturally diverse families.
Demonstrated ability to develop, organize, implement, and evaluate lesson plans using The Creative Curriculum.
Experience supervising adults positively and fostering teamwork, with the ability to promote competency among colleagues.
Current certification in Child CPR and Basic First Aid preferred.
Experience working with at‑risk families and preschool‑aged children preferred.
Competence in providing alternatives to the above qualifications that administration may deem appropriate.
Responsibilities
Show growth in professionalism per the Michigan Core Knowledge and Core Competencies for the Early Care and Education Workforce Document.
Meet qualifications and responsibilities outlined in the Michigan State licensing rules for child care centers.
Comply with all current board policies and staff handbooks of the Hazel Park School District.
Attend mandatory professional development sessions, when applicable, per program requirements.
Actively participate in program meetings as scheduled.
Implement the Creative Curriculum with fidelity, measured by corresponding assessments.
Assist in planning and implementing lessons with the GSRP Lead Teacher, following a team‑teaching model for all parts of the daily routine.
Compensation Salary in accordance with the Non‑Union Salary Pay Scale.
