Job ID: 14853 Position Type: Early Childhood / Early Childhood Support Date Posted: 12/11/2025 Location: Berkley Building Blocks – 14700 Lincoln Oak Park, MI 48237 Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:15 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. Rate of Pay: $17.10 – $20.41 per hour (based on credentials and/or experience) plus a monthly insurance stipend of $230 (September – June). Position Objective: Under the direction of the Supervisor of Early Childhood and the lead teacher, the caregiver will assist the classroom teacher in supervising, managing the class, and implementing classroom activities. The caregiver is responsible for supporting children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age. At least a CDA in Early Childhood Education (Preschool) is required or the willingness to achieve this certification. Meet the requirements set forth by the licensing agency. Documentation of a physical examination including a TB Test is mandatory within 30 days of start date, and thereafter as required. Two sets of fingerprints and Central Registry Clearance verification must be completed prior to start date. CPR and First Aid Certification is required within 60 days of start date and renewed every year. Experience with High Scope curriculum is preferred. Responsibilities

Implement the High Scope curriculum with fidelity and integrity. Assist in general overall classroom management. React kindly and firmly in a positive manner when disciplining children. Direct children indoors and outdoors. Assist in planning and implementing the daily program under the direction of the teacher. Assist in planning and preparing the learning environment, setting up learning activities, and preparing needed materials and supplies. Monitor the quantity, quality, appearance, maintenance and storage of all supplies and equipment needed for the program. Establish and maintain a positive relationship with all co-workers and parents. Attend all staff meetings that are required. Adhere to all licensing regulations in accordance with state laws and requirements. Follow all safety, blood borne and child abuse prevention guidelines. Continue professional development through community involvement, professional reading, workshops and seminars or formal education for 24 hours of training. Maintain the appropriate staff‑to‑child ratios. Must interface with the classroom teacher and other assistant teachers to make the classroom climate a positive one. Welcome parents and children each day by name. Assume equal and shared responsibility for general housekeeping tasks. Communicate with other staff on a regular basis regarding the care of the children. Prepare children for rest/nap time. Exhibit excellent attendance. Assist the lead teacher with anecdotal note taking for all children. Be able to lift 35lbs multiple times a day and be able to repeatedly get up and down from the floor. Application Deadline
