Position Summary The Machining Manufacturing Manager leads day‑to‑day shop operations—overseeing CNC, manual machining and coils, managing schedules, ensuring safety and quality, and mentoring machinists. Through strategic actions, the manager implements efficiency improvements, liaises with engineering, quoting, quality, maintenance, and reports to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain daily/weekly production schedules and collaborate with stakeholders to hit delivery targets.

Supervise and mentor machin‑ist personnel, conduct performance reviews, manage corrective actions, and handle hiring, onboarding, and training.

Supervise shift leads, CNC programmers, machinists, and operators, and develop strategic plans for process improvement.

Coordinate equipment maintenance, ensure uptime, oversee tooling, material purchasing, and tool‑crib controls.

Implement lean initiatives to optimize workflow and track KPIs such as efficiency, scrap, and downtime.

Support RFQs, labor estimates, and part quoting, addressing technical queries and updating clients on progress.

Review all procedures related to the job per the HR training matrix and complete required training on time.

Perform other duties as assigned and maintain regular, punctual attendance while following all company policies.

Qualifications

Commitment to a safety culture where safety is the first consideration before starting any task.

Proficient in CNC mill and lathe operations, with selection and use of inspection equipment and techniques.

Proficient with interpreting drawings and specifications and basic office computer software.

Familiar with use of ERP system(s).

5 years minimum experience in machining operations supervisory or management role.

Associate’s or bachelor’s in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent shop experience).

Team player willing to complete professional development goals.

Work Environment Exposure to manufacturing areas requiring personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel‑toe shoes, and other mandatory safety equipment. Ambient temperatures and typical plant lighting are present throughout the facility.

Physical Demands

Sit or stand as needed; walk primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day.

Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist, or lifting as required to reach documents or store materials.

Proper lifting techniques required; ability and comfortability to work in small confined spaces while following proper safety protocol.

Ability to accomplish physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.
