A B.S. or B.A. degree in a related field is normally required; specialized banking education and training. Ability to obtain a diploma/certification from the National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders (NAGGL) is required.
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in SBA Lending, Underwriting, or Processes is required; 3-5 years preferred.
Preferred Skills

Thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all bank commercial products and services.
Working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures impacting commercial services.

Role and Responsibilities
Perform various duties to support SBA Compliance and Servicing, adhering to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management, overall safety and soundness, and the Bank’s compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Communicate with management and appropriate staff personnel to integrate goals and activities; respond to inquiries or requests for information; maintain appropriate records and provide assigned reports.
Maintain intimate working knowledge of all required SBA SOPs to ensure proper oversight and compliance of SBA regulations.
Ensure receipt and review of all SBA policy notices and updates from the NAGGL.
Attend NAGGL conferences when required.
Verify SBA eligibility and compliance during and after credit and underwriting process, and during various loan-processing stages as needed.
Coordinate and maintain various SBA training as required.
Gather necessary documentation for servicing action requests from SBA borrowers and follow all SBA requirements for specific actions requested.
Work with internal Bank partners and borrowers to gather necessary information and complete servicing actions in compliance with SBA regulations.
Gather necessary documentation to build SBA Guaranty Purchase Package and work with internal Bank liquidation partners to ensure all SBA requirements are followed during liquidation.
Submit Guaranty Purchase Package to SBA to honor guaranty.
Perform post-closing SBA loan file audit for required documentation, SBA underwriting compliance, and verification requirements to ensure integrity of SBA guaranty.
Work with internal partners to ensure completeness of file audit and rectify any gaps.
Pull and review data from SBA Lender Portal and internal Bank systems; update reporting metrics monthly/quarterly; coordinate departmental tasks with coworkers inside and outside the department to ensure an efficient process and proper segregation of duties.
Report pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested or according to an established schedule; comply with information as necessary or as directed.
Respond to inquiries relating to job area or requests from customers or other personnel within established policy and time frames.
Abide by laws and organizational policies to promote an environment free of sexual harassment and discriminatory behavior.
Cooperate and support adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management, safety and soundness, and the bank’s compliance with regulatory requirements such as CRA, BSA, ECA, etc.
Perform ancillary duties that support essential functions of the job.
