The Senior Project Manager leads and delivers complex, high‑impact projects across the organization. This individual oversees projects from initiation through closure, coordinating cross‑functional teams, vendors, technologies, applications, and business areas to ensure successful delivery of project goals. The Senior Project Manager provides strategic oversight, strong leadership, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage multiple large‑scale projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and stakeholder expectations, and effectively motivating project teams.
Strategic Planning and Execution : Develop and manage detailed project plans and documentation, including schedules, scope statements, budgets, resource allocation, risk and issue logs, status reports, and deliverables. Proactively monitor progress and adapt plans to address evolving needs.
Team Leadership : Lead cross‑functional teams, providing guidance and support to ensure project objectives are met.
Stakeholder Engagement : Establish and foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing updates and gathering feedback throughout the project lifecycle to drive results in a collaborative environment.
Risk & Issue Management : Identify potential risks early and implement mitigation strategies and/or resolve issues promptly to minimize impact and maintain project momentum.
Quality Assurance : Ensure all project deliverables meet defined quality standards and business requirements.
Budget Management : Oversee project budgets, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and projects remain within financial constraints.
Vendor & Release Management : Oversee vendor relationships and coordinate release management activities to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
Reporting & Communication : Regularly demonstrate effective and impactful communication by:
Providing regular status updates and performance reports to senior management
Reviewing team reports across projects and addressing concerns proactively
Collaborating with IT and business units to manage expectations and ensure alignment of deliverables
Facilitating effective project meetings, managing change and conflict when necessary
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in project management, business management or a related field.
Experience : 5‑7 years of experience in project management or a similar role, with a proven track record of managing complex projects. Experience in platform migration from legacy systems to modern technologies is highly desirable. Prior work experience in the life insurance industry, a plus.
Certifications : Advanced certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), CSM (Certified ScrumMaster) are preferred.
Technical Skills : Proficiency in project management software and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid). Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools like JIRA, MS Project, Azure DevOps to track progress, manage resources, and report outcomes.
Leadership Skills : Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor team members.
Analytical Skills : Excellent problem‑solving abilities with a strategic mindset and attention to detail and the capacity to manage shifting priorities and demands.
