Lead, Tennessee CEI Lead The Tennessee CEI Lead will be responsible for overall field contract administration and coordination on a program or project of a diverse and complex nature. The initial assignment involves running project(s) of $3.5 billion in construction value and playing a key role in other mega‑project pursuits.

What You’ll Do

Develop project scope and fee quotations; assist in preparing technical proposals and contracts in accordance with HNTB’s Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA).

Coordinate project activities, establish priorities, and allocate staff to jobs.

Prepare Summary Inspection Reports of daily activities.

Monitor contractor progress, compare it with the reviewed schedule, and resolve technical field issues.

Coordinate with architects and engineers for timely and accurate responses to requests for information.

Oversee project controls including checking contractors’ controls, scheduling coordination, and reviewing contractors’ schedules.

Review submittals for conformance to plans and specifications; develop strategies with the contractor to create submittal packages that meet schedule requirements.

Implement the firm’s project delivery plan using HNTB’s Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project.

Lead the development and execution of the project management plan; supervise and mentor the team to overall project objectives.

Identify and resolve non‑compliant work; enforce contract plans and specifications.

Confirm change‑order requests, develop estimates, negotiate costs, and write change orders.

Provide cost and quality control within the discipline.

Partner with client service leaders and pursuit champions to support business development, build client relationships, and pursue mega and super‑mega projects in accordance with HNTB’s Sophisticated Sales Approach (SSA).

Lead proposal development and interview presentations for mini‑mega, mega, or super‑mega projects to clients and general presentations within the industry and community.

May be responsible for recruiting, hiring, developing, and retaining construction staff, including developing plans for staff reporting, performance and compensation reviews, and succession.

Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a relevant degree and 12 years of relevant experience; or 16 years of relevant experience in lieu of education.

What You’ll Bring

Successful delivery of 4for4 (on‑time, on‑budget, quality, client satisfaction) on multidi­sciplined or large/complex projects.

Experience leading large teams inside and outside HNTB using sub‑consultants.

Proficiency using system tools to manage, monitor, and deliver complex projects.

Knowledge of HNTB sophisticated processes as applicable to the project.

Ability to serve as the lead interface with the client.

Capability to deploy talent to other projects and develop successors for future work with the same client.

What We Prefer

15 years of relevant experience.

In lieu of education, 19 years of relevant experience.

Experience working with a DOT at a high level.

Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Level III.
