New Parent Support Professional (RNwBSN; LCSW; LMFT) – On Site, JBLM, WA
Magellan Health is seeking a licensed professional to support military families with children from birth to 3 years old. The role focuses on providing information, referrals, parenting programs, respite care, and supervised playtime while addressing risks of child maltreatment and family violence.
Responsibilities
Provide effective, timely, and confidential services to families assessed at risk.
Protect client privacy and confidentiality.
Identify and report suspected child abuse, neglect, and domestic abuse.
Assess developmental milestones, special needs, and developmental delays.
Assess and strengthen adaptation to parenthood.
Enhance parental capacity for problem‑solving, building trusting relationships, and seeking help when needed.
Promote developmentally appropriate parenting skills, disciplinary techniques, and communication skills.
Facilitate community networks to reduce social isolation.
Build relationships with local community and military installation officials and organizations.
Utilize community‑based services and networks for concrete support during crises.
Apply strengths‑based, family‑centered developmental approaches for screening and addressing protective and risk factors.
Maintain an updated tracking system with case status.
Participate in monthly conference calls and annual training events.
Qualifications / Other Job Requirements
At least 2 years of direct work experience in child abuse or domestic abuse, maternal or child health, or medical social work.
Active license as an LCSW, LMFT, or RN; includes a current, unrestricted clinical license and a master’s degree in Social Work for LCSW, or a bachelor’s degree in nursing for RN. Must hold license in a U.S. state or territory.
Home visitation experience.
Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Capable of operating general office equipment and communicating with others in person or by telephone.
Ability to work under time pressure, travel as needed, and adhere to AFSC travel policies.
Acceptable to enter private homes with limited accessibility for individuals with physical disabilities or those recovering from rehabilitation.
