New Parent Support Professional, JBLM, WA
Join Magellan Health as a New Parent Support Professional at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. You will provide support to families with expectant parents and parents of children aged birth to 3 years, focusing on young military families.
Responsibilities
Provide confidential services to families assessed at risk for child maltreatment or family violence.
Identify and report suspected child abuse, neglect, and domestic abuse.
Assess developmental milestones and refer to services for special needs or developmental delays.
Strengthen parental capacity through problem‑solving, communication, and relationship building.
Facilitate community network building to reduce social isolation.
Develop relationships with local community and military installation officials.
Utilize community‑based services to support families in crisis.
Maintain case status in tracking system.
Participate in monthly conference calls and annual training events.
Job Requirements
At least 2 years of direct work experience in child abuse or domestic abuse, or maternal/child health or medical social work.
Current active license: LCSW, LMFT, or RN.
LCSW or LMFT must hold a valid unrestricted clinical license and master’s degree in social work.
RN must have a bachelor’s in nursing and an unrestricted state license; at least 2 years of experience with child abuse/domestic abuse, maternal/child health, or mental health.
Home visitation experience.
Valid driver's license, auto insurance; ability to travel and operate motor vehicle.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and general office equipment.
Effective communication skills; ability to work under time pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to enter private homes and transport self between locations.
