Job Description
Material Handler II
is responsible for the safe, accurate loading and unloading of product within the distribution center.
The following duties and responsibilities are representative of the work performed by the incumbent(s).
All responsibilities include accurate documentation and use of RF technology.
Duties And Responsibilities Pallet/Case Picking
Processing customer orders: scanning bar codes, picking and labeling boxes.
Pick, pack, and process orders.
Use RF technology for order processing.
Maintain an acceptable work area as outlined in SOP.
Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Complete RF device training to obtain necessary profiles.
Verify accuracy and package shipments.
Pallet Build
Palletizing: scanning, retrieving, and placing completed orders on pallets.
Re-palletizing products for shipment.
Dock manifest duties: scanning completed pallets, running shrink wrapper.
Transport pallets by MHE.
Verify accuracy and package shipments.
Inbound/Outbound/Inventory Movement
Load/unload shipments utilizing the WMS.
Promote safety and prevent damage when loading off-load pallets.
Complete assigned duties in a timely manner following department standards.
Operating parcel manifest station duties.
Transportation documentation responsibilities.
Maintain an acceptable work area per SOP.
Complete RF device training.
Follow GDP per SOP.
Follow safety instructions for safe working conditions.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Maintain current status in C2C training modules.
Verify accuracy and package shipments.
Material handling equipment
Operate equipment safely; only designated associates may operate.
Report damage or maintenance issues immediately.
Keep equipment neat and orderly per procedures.
Maintain equipment certification at all times.
Safety and Security
Perform job activities safely and reasonably per safety requirements.
Assist in maintaining warehouse security.
Report injuries, accidents, unsafe acts, hazards immediately.
Report suspicious persons or activity.
Quality
Understand organizational quality goals.
Sanitation and Housekeeping
Maintain a clean and professional image.
Follow guidelines for cleanliness.
Maintain clean, neat, orderly work area at all times.
Hazmat Training
May receive Hazmat training: general awareness, function specific, security awareness, safety training.
Cross-training
Become knowledgeable with responsibilities of other warehouse positions.
Assist as required. Act as backup in absence or vacation.
Job Requirements
High School diploma, GED or 2 years of relevant experience required.
Experience with MHE, including Order Pickers, Reach Trucks, Counter Balance, Dock Stocker.
Forklift certification required.
Good verbal communication skills.
Fast‑paced distribution environment.
Read and interpret distribution documents.
Work well with others.
Work under minimal supervision.
May operate MHE and use Voice/RF scanner.
Operate in metrics‑driven environment.
Basic analytical, organizational, prioritization skills.
General distribution knowledge.
Exposure to work near moving mechanical equipment.
Perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
