Material Handler
Mon - Fri, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM. Overtime opportunities available.
12‑month contract (W2), 40 hours per week. Eligible applicants: U.S. citizens, green card holders, EAD, OPT, CPT.
Location: Sparks, MD.
Responsibilities
Pallet/Case Picking
Process customer orders; scan barcodes, pick and label boxes.
Pick, pack, and process orders using RF technology.
Maintain work area as outlined in SOP.
Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Complete RF device training; obtain necessary profiles.
Verify accuracy and package shipments.
Pallet Build
Build pallets: scan, retrieve, and place completed orders.
Re‑palletize products for shipment.
Perform dock manifest duties: scan pallets and run shrink wrapper.
Transport pallets by MHE if required.
Verify accuracy and package shipments.
Inbound/Outbound/Inventory Movement
Load/unload shipments using WMS, ensuring safety and minimizing damage.
Operate parcel manifest station and transportation documentation as needed.
Maintain work area per SOP.
Complete RF training and follow GDP.
Follow all safety instructions and report hazards.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Keep current status in C2C training modules.
Verify accuracy and package shipments.
Material Handling Equipment
Operate equipment safely; report damage/maintenance issues.
Keep equipment neat and orderly per procedures.
Maintain equipment certification.
Safety & Security
Work safely in compliance with safety requirements.
Assist in warehouse security and maintain safe environment.
Report injuries, accidents, hazards, and suspicious activity.
Quality
Understand organizational quality goals.
Sanitation & Housekeeping
Maintain a clean, professional image.
Follow facility cleanliness guidelines.
Keep work area neat and orderly at all times.
Hazmat Training
Receive general Hazmat awareness, function‑specific, security, and safety training.
Cross‑Training
Learn responsibilities of other warehouse positions; act as backup when needed.
Physical Demands
Work involves walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, balancing, crouching, reaching, pushing/pulling, grasping, twisting, lifting, repetitive wrist motions.
Occasional climbing.
May require lifting up to 50 lbs in some areas.
Continuous exposure to moving mechanical equipment.
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or 2 years relevant experience.
Experience with MHE (order pickers, reach trucks, counter‑balance, dock stocker).
Forklift certification required.
Good verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in fast‑paced distribution environment.
Ability to read and interpret distribution documents.
Teamwork and minimal supervision.
Use of voice/RF scanner may be required.
Metrics‑driven performance skills.
Basic analytical, organizational, prioritization skills.
General distribution knowledge.
Flexibility for work near moving mechanical equipment.
Ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
