Director of Client Accounting Services (CAS) We are seeking a Director of Client Accounting Services (CAS) to help oversee and strengthen the firm’s accounting operations. The ideal candidate is a CPA with proven experience gained either in a CPA firm’s bookkeeping division or within a large bookkeeping practice. This role requires expertise in QuickBooks Online, as well as demonstrated success managing migrations, integrations, and complex client onboarding projects.

Base pay range: $90,000.00/yr – $120,000.00/yr.

Responsibilities

Lead the CAS team to deliver consistent, timely, and accurate client services, including recruitment, performance management, and fostering collaboration and continuity across offices.

Serve as a point of contact for key CAS clients, ensuring strong relationships, clear expectations, and consistent service.

Assist in onboarding new clients, including systems setup, workflow design, presentations, proposals, and management of expectations.

Establish, build, refine, and document best practices, processes, and workflows for accounting operations, technology use, reporting, file documentation, and uniform procedures across offices to ensure consistency and scalability.

Build a scalable and efficient framework for CAS operations, leveraging cloud‑based accounting tools, automation, and integrated platforms.

Collaborate with partners, tax, assurance, and other firm service lines to provide integrated solutions and ensure seamless client service, gradually transitioning responsibilities to emerging leaders as appropriate.

Compile and maintain a firmwide list of all bookkeeping and CAS clients and ensure compliance with accounting standards, firm policies, and peer review requirements.

Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities to expand CAS services with existing and prospective clients and helping to present CAS offerings.

Align staffing, technology, and operational strategy to position the CAS practice for long‑term competitiveness.

Prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects effectively.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA certification preferred.

7+ years of progressive accounting experience.

Expertise in QuickBooks Online required; familiarity with Sage Intacct preferred.

Extensive experience with Bill.com and payroll platforms, including onboarding new clients and fully integrating both platforms with QuickBooks Online.

Proven track record overseeing clean‑up and catch‑up projects, including large and complex client books.

Strong technical skills in reconciliations, accruals, revenue recognition, and clean‑up work.

Excellent problem‑solving and client communication skills.

Collaborative leadership style with a focus on knowledge transfer.
