Gerdau North America . Primary responsibility: timely and cost‑effective procurement of goods and services to support production plans across the region. Activities include negotiating, maintaining, and executing supplier agreements, facilitating team‑based supplier selection, and overall contract management. Collaborate with central commodity teams to develop procurement strategies, minimize total costs, and execute approved plans. Key Responsibilities
SAP MRP Management & Implementation
– Lead the implementation, optimization, and continuous improvement of SAP MRP functionality for direct materials; own all MRP master data elements and define parameters; work with IT/SAP teams on system enhancements; train stakeholders; establish KPIs and conduct root‑cause analysis for exceptions. Material Planning & Execution
– Monitor daily MRP signals, convert requirements into purchase orders or delivery schedules; maintain appropriate inventory levels; align with Production Planning; conduct weekly and monthly planning reviews; manage material availability during engineering changes and rush orders. Integrate social responsibility and inclusion in all activities, adhering toau’s principles on safety, ethics, culture, diversity, and community. Develop and maintain procurement systems, processes, and supplier relationships; execute purchase contracts; verify purchase order details; assess vendor performance; report activities to central and regional management; support cost control and savings opportunities. Support the reduction of inventory across the region; manage supply agreements, monitor Gerdau and supplier performance, and ensure continuity of supply. Lead procurement process improvement initiatives, drive key performance indicators, and implement standardization and continual improvement within Gerdau Business Systems guidelines. Oversee CapEx equipment acquisition, manage milestone payments, and monitor obligations related to foreign trade and contractual terms. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, economics, or related field. 6–9 of direct procurement experience, generating and implementing contracts; managing purchase orders and documenting negotiations. Knowledge of the steelmaking industry, manufacturing, logistics, procurement procedures, and technical drawings analysis. Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management preferred. Strong negotiation, communication, mathematical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills; self‑starter and strong work ethic. Experience with quality management methodologies and cross‑functional teamwork. High ethical standards, leadership, ownership mindset, and commitment to diversity & inclusion. Benefits & Compensation
Annual Purchases: $15 - $75 million per year. Travel & Location
Travel 10‑20% required; locations supported: All Mill, Downstream, and Metallics/Raw Materials within the region. Seniority level
