Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Nurse Shift Manager (NSM) is a Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for overseeing patient care and administrative activities in their respective department(s)/unit(s). Continuously evaluate quality and effectiveness of patient care practices and care delivery. Promote staffing compliance and insure safe staffing assignments. Monitor staffing to achieve productivity and budget standards. Perform within the scope and standards of practice set by the American Nurses Association and professional specialty organizations guiding practice and standards within the workplace. Have the ability to hire, coach, counsel, evaluate, discipline and terminate others. Have the responsibility and authority to assign work, duties and responsibilities, to direct staff, and exercise independent judgment. Job Requirements

RN license in CA BLS & ACLS from the American Heart Association Associate of Science in Nursing Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a registered nurse Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through internal resources; outside RQI resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements. Where You'll Work
