Position Overview We are seeking an IRB Compliance Manager to support the North Texas Regional Institutional Review Board (NTR IRB) and the Office of Research Compliance. The manager will facilitate human research protection, conduct regulatory reviews, deliver training, and coordinate IRB operations.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement human research protection strategies for all NTR IRB partners.
Perform comprehensive administrative and regulatory reviews of IRB submissions (biomedical, clinical trial, and social/behavioral science studies), ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies.
Provide in‑house compliance training, workshops, and educational tools for researchers and affiliated institutions.
Assist with oversight, attendance, and coordination of IRB committee meetings, and communicate outcomes to investigators and institutional officials.
Collaborate with the ORC Executive Director, Education Outreach Coordinator, and other research units to develop and roll out compliance training programs and guidance documents.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and four (4) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in any health sciences field; Master’s degree preferred.
Three (3) years of human subject research experience or three (3) years in an IRB‑related role.
Certified IRB Professional (CIP) certification or eligibility for such certification.
Prior experience with critical thinking, project management, document management, and client interactions.
One to three (1‑3) years across all categories in a hospital research setting, university, or clinical research operation.
Job Duties
Assist NTR IRB Director with daily IRB operations, including development and implementation of human research protection.
Conduct regulatory reviews of designated IRB submissions, ensuring federal agency regulatory requirements are met.
Deliver ongoing education and training to investigators and researchers, providing detailed guidance on compliance matters.
Prepare documents for IRB review, including comments and pre‑review notes for Board Member review.
Coordinate IRB committee meetings, draft detailed meeting minutes, and track attendance and quorum.
Support the development and roll out of in‑house compliance training programs, workshops, seminars, guidance documents, and educational tools.
Physical Requirements
Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
Communicating with others to exchange information.
Environmental Hazards
No adverse environmental conditions expected.
Work Schedule Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM; eligible hybrid schedule.
