This role sits within ABB's Robotics business, a leading global robotics company. We are entering an exciting new chapter as we announce the plan for SoftBank Group to acquire ABB Robotics. Position reports to: Product Line Leader, US Mobile Robotics.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
Monitoring plan implementation and tracking any deviations for corrective action.
Preparing annual budget, overseeing progress, and determining measures to address cost‑related issues as necessary, to manage operations within the allocated budget and resources.
Developing programs, projects, goals, and metrics to lead the organization to the highest level of operational performance while optimizing working capital throughout Operations.
Ensuring that the organization considers an overall value chain perspective to meet customer expectations as per agreed quality, service levels, and lead time.
Overseeing the end‑to‑end execution of AMR installations, including site‑readiness validation, customer coordination, commissioning leadership, factory acceptance coordination, and alignment with ISO‑governed quality processes.
Providing operational risk mitigation related to AMR deployment, including facility layout considerations, fleet management integration readiness, IT/network prerequisites, safety compliance, and commissioning sequencing.
Ensuring seamless coordination of AMR product demonstrations (in‑house and external), including asset scheduling, demo kit readiness tracking, logistics planning, and technical preparation of AMR fleets and software environments.
Supporting product lifecycle visibility by tracking availability, readiness, versioning, and deployment requirements for the full AMR product portfolio, including new software releases and navigation/AI enhancements.
Driving continuous improvement within operations, leveraging lessons learned from installations, demos, customer feedback, and cross‑functional insights to evolve best‑in‑class processes.
Developing, coaching, and scaling a high‑performing execution team capable of delivering superior customer outcomes while expanding capacity as order volume and revenue increase.
Qualifications for the Role:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Technology, Supply Chain, or a related technical field.
8+ years of experience in operations management, industrial automation deployment, supply chain operations, or robotics project execution.
Preferred: Experience as an operations manager or installation leader with Autonomous Mobile Robots, AGVs, or automation systems.
Highly skilled in and enjoy working with ISO‑governed operational processes, structured project execution methodologies, SAP ERP, and the Autonomous Mobile Robotics (AMR) automation, or industrial robotics market.
Possess an enhanced knowledge of SAP ERP, Microsoft Project, standard project management tools, and operational quality frameworks (ISO 9001 or equivalent).
Passionate about developing world‑class execution processes and growing the capacity and business focus of cross‑functional leadership, organizational development, structured communication, customer satisfaction, and high‑performance team culture.
