Job Summary S.A. Comunale has been a local industry leader for end-to-end mechanical, fire protection and HVAC services for nearly 100 years. We provide industry-leading, end-to-end fire protection, mechanical, and HVAC services to a nationwide market. With 16 locations and over 1,450 employees across Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland and West Virginia, S.A. Comunale serves virtually every sector and facility type.
The Service Manager oversees all aspects of the Branch Service Department, reporting to the Branch Manager and the Vice President of the Service & Inspection Division. The role supervises administrative assistants, sales representatives and technicians, ensuring quality work and timely service across installations, repairs and maintenance.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
Implement programs designed to meet or exceed corporate objectives in revenue, sales, margin, and operating income.
Manage branch service operations according to an approved financial plan, including operating expenses, accounts receivable, manpower and inventory.
Identify, select and develop new and existing customer accounts.
Maintain effective communication with customers and ensure contractual obligations are met.
Plan and execute growth strategies efficiently and effectively.
Ensure all field work is completed on time, within budget and meets customer expectations.
Set fair and manageable assignments for personnel.
Assign and manage performance measures, motivating employees to exceed objectives.
Build a competent team, recruiting individuals with the required skills and knowledge.
Identify training and development opportunities to enhance branch performance, reviewing performance and implementing development plans.
Maintain compliance with corporate safety programs and notify safety office of hazards.
Make customer quotations and follow up on impairments.
Grow the service base by selling commercial service products and solutions to new and existing customers.
Collaborate with other branch personnel to ensure excellent customer service from order to delivery.
Perform customer surveys as required.
Develop and maintain vendor relationships.
Obtain required licenses, certifications and manufacturer approvals.
Schedule and execute monthly calls and complete necessary paperwork accurately and timely.
Enhance sales skills and product knowledge, promoting a professional field image.
Read architectural and mechanical drawings to determine proper sprinkler locations for new construction and remodel projects.
Travel to customer and job sites as required.
Qualifications To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Education / Work Experience
High school diploma or GED required.
7+ years of fire sprinkler work experience required.
5+ years in a management position required.
Previous sales experience a plus.
Working knowledge of NFPA 13 and 25 required.
Knowledge of industry standard practices for service, inspections and design required.
Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record required.
Computer Skills
Significant experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) applications required.
