Traffic Safety Program Manager Tallahassee State College (TSC), recently recognized as one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges for 2025, is excited to announce a full‑time, grant‑funded opening for the Traffic Safety Program Manager position with Florida Department of Transportation/Contract and Grants. The role is housed in Florida Department of Transportation and reports directly to the Traffic Safety Administrator. It involves analyzing, directing, and monitoring highway safety countermeasure activities through traffic safety grant programs.

What You’ll Do The Traffic Safety Program Manager will coordinate and monitor sub‑recipients to ensure program activities are implemented as intended, support the Traffic Safety Administrator in managing all sub‑grants, analyze program activities for effectiveness, conduct monitoring visits, and maintain compliance with state statutes and federal requirements. The position also involves strategic planning of subgrants, providing consultation, data management, and evaluation of sub‑grant progress.

Day‑to‑day Responsibilities

Coordinate and monitor sub‑recipients, ensuring program activities align with National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) standards; analyze effectiveness and allocate resources appropriately.

Develop plans for federally funded state and local grant programs; advise decision‑making to accomplish program goals; allocate funding for data‑driven countermeasures; assist in the annual Highway Safety Plan and Annual Report.

Consult with sub‑recipients, associates, and the public on program planning, evaluation, and data analysis; maintain records and data in tracking systems for accuracy and accessibility.

Evaluate sub‑grants for progress toward goals; verify satisfactory progress; use evaluation results to report to management and guide further activities; represent FDOT in positive collaborations.

Who We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Professional or paraprofessional experience with grants, contracts, or program management (one year of experience can substitute for each year of degree).

Valid driver’s license.

Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, and service‑oriented traits.
