Position: Full‑time, grant‑funded role at Tallahassee State College associated with DOC – Hardee Correctional Institution.
What You’ll Do As a Career Development Specialist, you’ll play a key role in providing services related to Compass 100 Hybrid and supplemental in‑cell assignments through cell‑front instruction for eligible participants who are in restrictive housing as directed by the Lead Educator.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
Facilitating employability and life skills, administration and interpretation of assessments, and training to include the Compass 100 hybrid curriculum and Thinking for a Change.
Providing services related to Compass 100 Hybrid and supplemental in‑cell assignments through cell‑front instruction for eligible participants who are in restrictive housing as directed by the Lead Educator; providing facilitation of employability and life skills programs; providing administration and interpretation of assessments.
Providing services related to Compass 100 Hybrid through a small group setting to eligible participants who are not in restrictive housing as directed by the Lead Educator and other programs as determined by the Department; providing facilitation of pre‑release connections with community providers and employers through face‑to‑face and technology‑based interactions to include pre‑release job search, recruitment, and placement activities.
Reporting monthly attendance, program enrollments and completions on the Department of Corrections approved format; maintaining and providing documentation of services delivered.
Who We’re Looking For
Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university or a high school diploma, and two (2) years of professional experience in the workforce development, social services or corrections field.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry.
Bonus Points If You Have
Associate’s Degree and one year of experience in the social services or corrections field.
