TECHNICAL PRODUCTION PLANNING SPECIALIST

Responsibilities
Utilize our MRP system to plan and establish production schedules for a diverse manufacturing environment including machine, fabrication, processing, assembly, and inspection departments.
Develop and maintain production planning to route items through various work centers and production processes.
Maintain MRP parameters to identify and regulate optimal ordering policies.
Improve shop floor work center parameters to reflect actual resource availability.
Assure timely work order releases to the production floor on a daily basis.
Monitor inventory levels to ensure that material or components are available when needed for production.
Coordinate with production supervisors to replan or reschedule work if unforeseen circumstances arise during the production process.
Prepare and analyze production reports related to order status, unplanned exceptions, and recovery.
Coordinate with other Essex sites to plan and execute inter-facility production orders.
Evaluate Bill of Material structures to ensure planning supports optimal production flow.
Interact regularly with sales and customer care teams to determine and implement any necessary expediting activity.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
3 or more years of experience in a production control related position.
Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or equivalent preferred.
Competency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) required.
