Department: Underground Utilities & Public Infrastructure Employment Status: Full‑Time What You’ll Do
Plan, coordinate, and execute procurement activities, including developing bids, proposals, scopes of work, and specifications. Independently manage competitive solicitations, including RFPs, RFQs, and ITBs. Review departmental requisitions for compliance with procurement policies, regulations, and budgetary requirements. Facilitate emergency purchases to support operational continuity for city departments and utilities. Oversee contract review and approval, maintaining accurate records and supporting compliance audits. Serve as a subject‑matter expert, provide training to staff, and collaborate with engineers, project managers, and utility personnel to ensure specifications and contracts meet operational needs. Minimum Training & Experience
Purchasing Agent
Bachelor’s degree in finance, marketing, public administration, business administration, or related field and five years of professional purchasing experience. Alternative: high school diploma or GED and nine years of relevant purchasing experience. Must possess a valid Class E state driver’s license and file financial disclosure statements in compliance with Florida Statutes, Chapter 112, Part III. Senior Purchasing Agent
Bachelor’s degree in finance, marketing, public administration, business administration, or related field and seven years of professional purchasing experience. Alternative: high school diploma or GED and eleven years of relevant purchasing experience. Must possess a valid Class E state driver’s license and file financial disclosure statements in compliance with Florida Statutes, Chapter 112, Part III. Required credentials at appointment: CPPB, CPPO, NIGP CPO, or PMP. Salary Range
$21.66 – $58.80 hourly. Typical hiring rate will not exceed $38.71 hourly. Benefits
