Child Watch Associate
role at
Mahaska County YMCA . We are hiring for morning (8‑noon, M‑F) and afternoon/evening (4‑8 pm, M‑TH) shifts.
Responsibilities
Directly participate with and ensure the safety and care of children.
Serve as a role model and live the YMCA mission, vision, and values.
Participate with children in all activities and implement character development activities.
Maintain assigned area to ensure safe and sanitary conditions, including disinfection of toys and furniture.
Notify supervisor if equipment, toys, or furniture is damaged.
Adhere to Child Watch best practices and appropriate discipline techniques.
Qualifications
Must be able to pass a background check.
Communicate effectively with parents.
Ability to sit, stand, kneel, walk frequently, stoop, crouch, or crawl as necessary to care for young children.
Previous experience working with children ages 6 weeks to 6 years preferred.
Work Environment The noise level varies from quiet to moderate depending on the number of participants. This position works a varied week as required to manage operations.
