Project Manager – Commercial Join the McDonnel Group. The McDonnel Group is a values‑driven organization that invests in professional development and offers competitive compensation.

Summary Passion for building is required. Our Project Managers collaborate with project teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure timely project completion. Responsibilities include generating and updating project schedules, procurement, contract administration, quality control, cost management, and staff management.

Essential Job Functions

Preconstruction

Organize, coordinate and lead team meetings.

Prepare meeting agendas and review minutes.

Review, issue and negotiate contracts (prime and subcontracts).

Budget management and communication with engineering and design.

Develop, revise, and communicate the project schedule.

Prepare bid packages, scope documents and pricing letters.

Coordinate permitting, regulatory approvals and local municipality.

Construction

Generate and update the project schedule and collect durations from subcontractors.

Issue all subcontracts and purchase orders, coordinate materials delivery and mobilizations.

Administer prime contract, generate monthly payment applications, coordinate submittals and RFCs.

Resolve subcontractor disputes, provide field performance assistance and conduct work‑force supplementation.

Implement quality control procedures and coordinate field activity reviews.

Approve invoices, maintain job cost accuracy and monitor labor costs.

Review timesheets, meet with project staff and provide status updates.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction / Project Management or equivalent.

5+ years of general construction experience in the commercial space.

Proficient with MS Excel, MS Word and project management software; familiarity with P6 and Procore is a plus.

Track record of proven leadership and commercial project management experience.

Must pass pre‑employment criminal, driving and drug screen.

Current valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Physical Demands The employee is regularly required to read engineering blueprints and specifications, converse on the telephone and in person, write and type, prepare email messages, use personal computers and lift documents up to 75 pounds. The employee will periodically need to lift and/or carry heavy documents and equipment.
