Seasonal Concessions Management Specialist Summary:

Seasonal period April through October, variable due to weather, project needs, or funding. Anticipated entry: April 2026.

Major Duties

Facilitate and coordinate the use of rental properties and activities within Minute Man National Historical Park, including advertisement of properties and review of applicants.

Develop, administer, and ensure legal authorization for Commercial Use Authorizations, including issuing Special Use Permits, Leases, Partnership Agreements, and Cooperative Agreements.

Conduct planning and implementation to provide high‑quality visitor services in the area of use of park lands, structures and facilities.

Facilitate condition assessments on various park assets related to the Leasing program and coordinate repairs and corrections of deficiencies with appropriate park staff.

Regularly liaise with lease holders to ensure lease conditions are met, problems or deficiencies are resolved, and park assets are properly maintained.

Conditions of Employment

U.S. Citizenship required.

Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.

Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males.

Participation in Direct Deposit electronic funds transfer program required.

May be required to operate a government or private motor vehicle; must hold a valid state driver’s license, provide a photocopy yearly, and submit driving records if required.

Telework is permitted only during emergencies or natural disasters.

Qualifications

Experience:

At least one full year of specialized experience comparable to GS‑05, including: oversight of commercial visitor services, communication with stakeholders, responding to inquiries, developing and managing program budgets, and providing customer service support. Must include hours per week worked.

Education:

Successful completion of at least one full year of graduate level education (18 semester hours or 27 quarter hours) in relevant fields such as business administration, finance, accounting, contracting, hospitality, park and recreation management, or related subjects. Transcripts required.

Combination:

Combination of at least six months of specialized experience (50 % of the requirement) and 14 semester hours of graduate study (50 % of the requirement). Transcripts required.

Superior Academic Achievement:

Evidence of upper third of graduating class, GPA 3.0 or higher, or membership in a national scholastic honor society.

Volunteer Experience:

Paid or unpaid experience, including National Service programs such as Peace Corps or AmeriCorps, is creditable.

CTAP/ICTAP:

Candidates with special priority selection rights under CTAP or ICTAP must be well qualified and submit required documentation.

Physical Demands Work may include hiking, backpacking, horseback riding, bicycling, rafting, extensive walking, water vessel operation, small aircraft travel, and may require a current driver’s license.

Working Conditions Office environment with standard safety precautions; travel to meetings, training, conferences, and site visits may be required. Field work may involve wildlife encounters, exposure to elements, working with horses, boats, historic structures, and challenging terrain.
