Client Accounting Services (CAS) Manager
Base pay range
$130,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr
Overview Our client is a growing professional services firm based in Chicago, IL, seeking a Client Accounting Services (CAS) Manager to join their team.
The CAS Manager supports a sophisticated fractional CFO practice by managing outsourced accounting engagements and serving as a primary client contact. This role focuses on execution, oversight, and quality control while partnering closely with senior leadership to deliver high-level financial support to clients. The CAS Manager also plays an important role in mentoring staff and ensuring consistency across client engagements.
Responsibilities
Manage multiple CAS engagements, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of accounting and financial reporting services
Support fractional CFOs with month-end close, financial statement preparation, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting
Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for clients on accounting and operational matters
Review financial statements, reporting packages, and supporting workpapers for accuracy and completeness
Coordinate and review staff work; provide technical guidance and ongoing feedback
Identify process improvement opportunities and support implementation of best practices
Collaborate with senior leadership to maintain service quality and client satisfaction
Qualifications
Prior experience in CAS, outsourced accounting, or client accounting services
Strong understanding of GAAP, month-end close, and financial reporting processes
Experience supporting or working alongside CFO-level or advisory clients
Proven ability to manage multiple client relationships and deadlines
Prior experience mentoring or supervising staff strongly preferred
CPA or equivalent credential preferred
