Engineering Manager - Security Incident Response
Join Datadog to lead a talented group of security incident responders, designing tools, automating processes, and ensuring rapid threat containment. The team works across stakeholders to shape strategy, culture, and operational metrics.
What You’ll Do
Lead and mentor a team of experienced incident responders, fostering growth and continuous development.
Serve as a hands‑on leader during incidents, making decisions under pressure, collaborating with other teams, and being on‑call in our secondary rotation.
Triage alerts and signals in Datadog Cloud SIEM, partnering with Threat Detection to tune and calibrate signals for maximum value.
Build tools, systems, and processes that mature Datadog’s security incident response capabilities, measuring and communicating progress to stakeholders.
Lead post‑incident analysis efforts, ensuring blameless post‑mortems, actionable follow‑up items, and systematic issue repair.
Collaborate with product management and other security teams to provide feedback on features, champion improvements, and develop prevention strategies.
Who You Are
2‑3 years experience as a people manager or technical leader with strong mentorship, career development, performance management, and hiring diversity.
3‑5 years experience in incident response teams and large‑scale programs focused on security, with ownership of incident stabilization.
Strong technical pragmatism, reviewing senior engineer decisions and RFCs, blending technical and business acumen.
Solid understanding of distributed systems, post‑mortem analysis, and credibility with technical teams.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication in English, and ability to motivate cross‑functional teams toward shared goals.

Compensation:
$187,000—$240,000 USD per year, commensurate with skills and experience.
