Job Title Quality Control Manager
Reports To Project Manager
Summary The Quality Control Manager is responsible for ensuring that all construction projects meet the highest quality standards. This position requires a minimum of five years of experience in construction, with at least two years of experience as a QC Manager. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the requirements of USACE EM 385-1-1, and have experience in the areas of hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability.
Responsibilities
Complete the course entitled "Construction Quality Management (CQM for Contractors" and maintain a current certificate. The QC Manager that does not have a current certification must obtain the CQM for Contractors course certification. This course is periodically offered by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command and the Army Corps of Engineers.
Develop and implement quality control procedures and standards
Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards
Approve or reject materials and workmanship
Monitor the progress of projects and identify potential problems early on
Train and supervise quality control personnel
Communicate with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and other stakeholders on quality matters
Qualifications
Minimum of five years of combined experience in the following positions: Project Superintendent, QC Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer, or Construction Manager, with at least two years' experience as a QC Manager
Familiarity with the requirements of USACE EM 385-1-1
Experience in the areas of hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Previous experience in construction management or other related fields
Familiarity with construction management software
Strong leadership qualities
Deadline and detail-oriented
Bachelor's degree in a related field
