Overview Your role as a Business Office Coordinator involves assisting the Business Office Manager with daily operations and supervising registration and medical records staff.
Responsibilities
Know, adhere to, and enforce all business office policies.
Assist in supervising business office employees and processes.
Hire, orient, conduct performance reviews, and train registration and medical records staff.
Maintain thorough working knowledge of the accounts receivable system, including managed care contracts.
Reconcile cash receipts with the deposit log.
Inform the business office manager of day‑to‑day operational matters.
Supervise all medical records activities to align with clinical needs.
Follow equipment safety guidelines; maintain knowledge and care of equipment.
Assist with overall strategic planning of the business office.
Help develop and maintain policies, procedures, and systems to minimize DSO, reduce bad debt, and increase productivity.
Perform other duties as requested by the business manager and assume operational responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
High school graduate required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Five years of supervisory experience in a medical setting (hospital, physician’s office, or surgery center) preferred.
Experience working with physicians desirable.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Prefer experience with accounts payable and receivable.
