Responsibilities The position involves a variety of tasks such as offering enrollment to patients, coordinating with other team members and the Biorepository, entering data, and other research related tasks. The coordinator works under the direction of the Associate Director of Research and Program Manager for Total Cancer Care, consults with the team on project/study issues and/or solicits guidance as necessary. They work independently with health care providers and patients and should be able to wear the PPE necessary for the area where they will be working.

Essential Functions

Coordinates patient identification, recruitment, and offering enrollment in the Total Cancer Care study. Will need to be present to meet with scheduled patients as early as 5:30 am, M‑F.

Offers questionnaires to enrolled study participants regularly at the time of consent or via follow‑up contact.

Maintains information in patient databases and is responsible for data entry.

Recognizes and informs study team of protocol deviations and participates in documentation of deviations.

Assists the Total Cancer Care Program Manager and Associate Director with research and team related tasks.

Works closely with the Biorepository and Molecular Pathology Shared Resource and investigators and ensures proper collection and processing of specimens.

Is responsible to arrange coverage when not present.

Performs other responsibilities as required.

Problem Solving Prioritizes and helps optimize processes needed to achieve study goals. Functions independently under minimal supervision. Has an understanding of good clinical practice and research processes.

Work Environment Nearly continuously: Office environment.

Physical Requirements Nearly continuously: Sitting, hearing, listening, talking. Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking. Seldom: Bending, reaching overhead.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required. IRB CITI Course in the Protection of Human Research Subjects certificate obtained within six months of hire, and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.

Some departments may require IATA DGR training within six months.

This position is patient‑sensitive and must fulfill all associated vaccination requirements, or be approved for an exemption, prior to the first day of work.

Preferences Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate the ability to interact effectively with patients and other study team members and will be able to perform the essential job functions as outlined in the position description. They will be organized and demonstrate excellent communication skills and ideally be an early riser and a self‑starter.
