Responsibilities

Maintain a thorough understanding of and ensure total operation compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g., FDA approved Standard Operating Procedures, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP) to maintain the highest production standards and ensure facility compliance.

Assist in hosting internal and external inspections conducted by regulatory agencies and customers.

Collaborate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.

Identify opportunities for process optimization and contribute to the development of best practices.

Collaborate with relevant departments to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address identified issues.

Promote Safety, Health, and Environment Policies & Procedures; ensure safety training and practices are implemented and followed within the center; mitigate and resolve safety concerns.

Oversee preventive maintenance of donor center equipment to ensure that the equipment is well‑maintained and in good working order.

Ensure the facility is always well‑maintained, clean, and neat.

Ensure integrity of product and sample storage equipment, including mitigation of equipment failure and maintenance.

Prepare product shipments and ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.

Manage unsuitable product per Standard Operating Procedures.

Assist with achieving targeted production in quantity and quality.

Assist with optimizing operational cost to meet and exceed targeted objectives, including inventory management.

Provide feedback for comprehensive employee performance evaluations, performance improvement plans, individual development plans, and corrective actions as applicable.

Collaborate on employment decisions (hiring, promotions, demotions, terminations) that strategically align with both employee and business needs.

Nurture a robust and positive culture within the donor center, exemplifying core values.

Ensure adherence to all HR policies and procedures including workers' compensation, talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, leave of absence, ADA/accommodations, and employee relations.

Assist in employee relations investigations.

Exercise the role of a Designated Trainer, conducting thorough on‑the‑job and certification training for both new and existing employees; assess learners' progress and adapt teaching methods to meet their learning needs.

Regularly conduct thorough area walkthroughs, demonstrating a consistent and visible presence in production zones.

Facilitate optimal productivity in production areas by providing necessary assistance as required.

Cultivate a positive and respectful rapport with donors, fostering retention, referrals, and growth.

Keep immediate supervisor informed of any irregularities within the center.

Mitigate and report all unsafe situations and conditions.

Assist with schedule and payroll records to optimize the efficient allocation of employee hours.

Assist with the coordination of staff and leadership meetings to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Drive operational performance to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) while proactively addressing operational deficiencies.

Collaborate and support marketing and advertising initiatives, partnering with relevant corporate departments to pinpoint and implement essential enhancements.

What It Takes

Trained in all production areas.

B.S. degree preferred; other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

1–3 years of operations and/or process management/supervisory experience preferred.

1–3 years of people management required, including recruiting, training, etc.

Ability to function effectively in a fast‑paced environment with frequent interruptions.

Background in fiscal management and/or budgeting preferred.

Experience working in a highly regulated industry preferred.

Effective communication and organizational skills required.

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills required.

Experience with office software preferred.

Ability to work daytime and evening hours, weekends, holidays, extended shifts, and periodically after hours.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods for up to four (4) hours at a time.

Ability to tug, lift, and pull up to thirty‑five (35) pounds.

Ability to bend, stoop, or kneel.

Ability to enter an environment with a temperature of –40°C for short periods of time.

Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens.

Ability to view a video display terminal less than 18” away from face for extended periods of time, up to four (4) hours at a time.

Ability to perform precise tasks that require repetitive small motor skills, such as drawing blood for diagnostic tests.

Ability to type and use basic computer skills.

Ability to use assistive devices if needed for mobility or communication.
