What You Will Do

Assist in day‑to‑day execution of the floor schedule at TA‑55, especially within PF‑4 and PF‑5.

Help production integrate and coordinate various support resources.

Attend daily scheduling meetings for coordination and release of work.

Support quality checks on schedules and log issues as needed.

Support incident and general issues management investigations and reporting.

Communicate and resolve housekeeping and transient combustible program violations through coordination with the TA‑55 resident groups.

Ensure floor work is performed per scheduling protocols, execution procedures, and production priorities established by the ALDWP leadership team.

Support communication between work‑owning organizations, area controllers, and OIC management.

Ensure compliance with safety/security requirements and halt work if it is unsafe or compromises security.

What You Need

Proven adherence to policies and procedures.

Clear, effective verbal and written communication.

Ability to wear required PPE (e.g., respiratory protection, safety glasses, anti‑contamination clothing).

Ability to obtain Laboratory Area Controller certification and a Q clearance; position may be subject to HRP.

Experience in radiological areas (implementing controls, frequent RCA entry/egress, current/past Rad Worker qualification); or

Some college math/science and experience in procedural adherence or supervision.

Education / Experience : Position requires an associate‘s degree in a relevant field and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. DOE Order 426.2A requires a high school diploma.

Desired Qualifications

Active DOE "Q" clearance.

Radiological Worker certification.

Familiar with LANL policies, practices, and procedures.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF software products.

Essential Job Functions : Ability to lift 50 pounds and carry 35 pounds; Reading vision; Peripheral vision, depth perception; Ability to speak; Hearing normal range (500‑3000 Hz); Ability to sit, crawl, stand, walk, run, and climb; Reach overhead, horizontally, and down; Use stairways, fixed ladders, and ladders up to six feet; Physically capable of working in demanding environments.

Work Environment : Use of protective clothing, including safety glasses and radiological anti‑contamination clothing.

Work Location : Onsite, Los Alamos, NM; all locations at management discretion.

Position Commitment : Regular appointment employees required to serve a continuous service period to be eligible for posted jobs; position commitment is one year.

Work Schedule : May require 24/7 coverage, including shift and weekend schedules. Shift differential may be paid when assigned by manager.

Clearance: Q —Selected applicants will undergo a background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements. Q clearance requires U.S. citizenship except in rare circumstances.

Eligibility Requirements —To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

DOE Order 426.2A —This position is subject to DOE Order 426.2A, Personnel Selection, Training, and Qualification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities.

New‑Employment Drug Test —The Laboratory requires a successful new‑employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random testing. A positive test for marijuana will result in termination of employment.

Regular Position —Laboratory employees applying for regular‑status positions are converted to regular status upon hiring.

Internal Applicants —Regular appointment employees who have served the required continuous service period are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout LANL.
