Quality Assurance Inspector - Custodial Operations Our Custodial Department has an entry-level opportunity for a Quality Assurance Inspector. This position plays a critical role in supporting our custodial teams by providing consistent, measurable, and objective data used to ensure high-quality service across Grounds.

The Quality Assurance Inspector assesses the and condition of UVA buildings—academic, housing, and other space types—using defined cleaning standards and APPA level criteria. This role requires strong attention to detail, objectivity, critical thinking, and comfort using technology. After initial training, the QA Inspector works largely independently, walking and scoring spaces daily to identify cleanliness deficiencies and document findings.

Although this is an independent role, you will have the flexibility to collaborate with colleagues, consult with supervisors, participate in team calibration sessions, and contribute your ideas for improving processes. We value the perspective of those closest to the work and encourage continuous improvement.

If you are self-motivated, detail-oriented, objective in your judgment, and meet the essential functions and physical requirements of the job, we’d like to talk with you—even if you’ve never held a similar position.
