Summary
PROtect is seeking a certified API 653 Inspector to join our NDT team in Houston. This role is responsible for performing inspections, evaluations, and documentation of aboveground storage tanks (ASTs) to ensure compliance with API 653, industry standards, and client-specific requirements. The API 653 Inspector will work closely with engineering, planning, and operations teams to identify risks, recommend repairs, and support asset integrity across various client sites. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of tank construction, corrosion mechanisms, and repair methodologies, along with a commitment to safety, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.

Essential Functions
Conduct non-destructive (NDT) testing of components and materials in accordance with applicable codes, standards, equipment utilization, specifications, and procedures.
Utilize appropriate NDT method to perform NDT inspections, including API 653.
Select, prepare, load, calibrate, or operate equipment used in the non-destructive testing of products or materials.
Identify defects in materials using appropriate testing techniques.
Complete documentation, work orders, and reporting thoroughly following established protocols and meeting required timeframes.
Drive company vehicles and maintain a safe driving record.
Leverage safety knowledge and lead others to follow safety regulations, policies and procedures.
Interact professionally with customers and co-workers.
