Job Summary The Faculty and Program Support Specialist provides administrative and programmatic support to the Department of Finance. This position plays a central role in advancing the department's teaching, research, and student engagement activities by assisting faculty, supporting student services, and coordinating departmental communications. The specialist will manage key administrative functions, maintain program records and documentation, and serve as a point of contact for faculty, students, alumni, and external partners. The role supports signature departmental initiatives such as the Master of Science in Finance program and the Melvin and Dollie Younts Trading Room, contributing to the success of both academic and co‑curricular programming.
Job Duties
Administrative Support (35%)
– Provides broad administrative support to the department chair and associate/assistant chair, manages departmental records, calendars, files, schedules meetings, and coordinates with colleagues across the college and university.
Undergraduate Program Support (20%)
– Provides administrative and logistical support for the department's undergraduate programs and related student engagement initiatives.
MS Finance Program Support (20%)
– Supports the Master of Science in Finance program by assisting with student services, maintaining records, tracking program progression, and coordinating communications.
Trading Room Program Support (20%)
– Provides support for activities in the Melvin and Dollie Younts Trading Room, scheduling visits, assisting guest speakers, and coordinating events.
Additional Duties (5%)
– Provides front‑desk coverage in the absence of student workers, greeting and assisting visitors.
Minimum Requirements
Education: 1st bachelor's degree
Work Experience: 1+ year with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software and social media platforms
Preferred Requirements
1+ year related work experience
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, Adobe, and social media platforms, and AI tools such as Grammarly, ChatGPT, and CoPilot
Additional Responsibilities
JOB KNOWLEDGE – Firm job knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use them in varied situations
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES – No supervisory duties
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES – No budget responsibilities
Physical Requirements
Stand for prolonged period – 15%
Sit for prolonged period – 10%
Walk or move about – 15%
Communicate, converse, give direction, express oneself – 90%
Working Conditions No work conditions specified.
Work Schedule Standard hours: 37.5 hours per week.
Compensation Expected salary range: $39,764 - $60,000. Salary is dependent upon several factors including the candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills, and performance in accordance with Clemson’s compensation guidelines.
Essential Personnel Level Normal operations. Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected to work on‑site during emergency situations.
