DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Custodial Work Supervisor, you will plan, direct, and control the work performed by the custodial staff to provide a clean, sanitary, and attractive environment for residents, employees, and visitors. Work involves supervising standard or aseptic cleaning and sanitation work, which includes cleaning buildings, gathering waste and recyclable materials, and using and maintaining custodial supplies and cleaning equipment. An important aspect is ensuring efficiency in the custodial unit’s work processes and recommending improvements that meet operational needs. You will develop constructive, cooperative working relationships with subordinates, supervisors, peers, and co‑workers so that performance and work interactions focus on carrying out the department’s mission.

Work Schedule and Additional Information

Full‑time employment

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a 30‑minute lunch

Rotating on and off duty days including weekends and holidays. Work schedule may change based on operational needs. Overtime may be required

Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non‑negotiable

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements

One year as a Custodial Worker 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or

Two years of experience performing custodial work

Legal Requirements

A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination

This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act

Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance
