Salary Range:
$42.55 - $59.24 per hour
People are placed based on skills, experience, and comparison to other employees in the role. Newly hired employees are often placed below the midpoint of the range.
Position Overview The Healthcare Compliance, Privacy, and Research Specialist position will ensure CMH adheres to federal and state healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, ACA, and other privacy laws. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance and privacy programs, conducting audits, and providing training to staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare operations, regulatory frameworks, and risk management practices.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Implement and administer the day to day activities to maintain a comprehensive healthcare compliance and privacy program.
Monitor adherence to internal policies and external regulations.
Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules.
Investigate and respond to privacy breaches and complaints.
Maintain documentation and reporting for privacy incidents.
Provide ongoing training to staff on compliance and privacy policies.
Serve as a resource for employees regarding regulatory requirements and ethical practices.
Draft, revise, and enforce compliance and privacy‑related policies and procedures.
Stay current with evolving laws and regulations and update organizational policies accordingly.
Prepare compliance reports for senior leadership and regulatory bodies.
Collaborate with legal, HR, IT, and clinical departments to address compliance issues.
Manage the day‑to‑day operations of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) to ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations governing the protection of human subjects in research.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Law, Business, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Two (2) years of experience in healthcare compliance, privacy, or regulatory affairs.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Position will require you to be located in Ventura County, California.
Preferred
Certification in Healthcare Compliance (e.g., CHC, CHPC).
