Court Services Specialist #10100040-23100 Full‑Time, Permanent position located in Santa Fe, NM. Business Unit: 23100. Opened 12‑18‑2025. Target Pay Range: $19.577‑$24.471 per hour.

Job Summary The First Judicial District Court is recruiting one Court Services Specialist to work in the Court Administration Division. The role involves court security, administrative and clerical duties, technical and courtroom assistance, and inventory management.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, coordinate project and security activities, and office functions.

Prepare, draft, proofread, edit, and disseminate documents and correspondence including pleadings.

Enter case data and process into the case management system; maintain a docket or calendar.

Prepare reports, mail, fax, or documents such as notices, motions, opinions, orders, records, pleadings, memorandum in opposition, and case materials.

Provide meeting support including setting up IT/audio/visual equipment, troubleshooting, and coordinating location.

Ensure accurate court fees are paid and recorded, and that daily cash receipts are balanced and reconciled. Process receipts, track expenditures, prepare bank deposits, and file receipt of fees.

Provide public case information to parties, attorneys, law enforcement agencies, and other outside agencies.

Operate security and/or metal detecting equipment at courthouse or courtroom entrances; inspect people and packages entering and leaving the building.

Give instructions to customers regarding public access terminals, microfiche, reader machines, the website, and general information to pro‑se litigants without giving legal advice.

Serve as information systems site coordinator or backup coordinator and provide technical support.

Operate and troubleshoot electronics such as television, video, projector, and audio equipment.

Provide courtroom assistance as a court monitor, ensuring proper behavior, customer service, and support to Judge, jurors, and other parties.

Assist with inventory management, jury support, and vehicle fleet maintenance.

Coordinate with law enforcement agencies for inmate transportation.

Assist attorneys who require special equipment for hearings.

Assist in the assembly of potential jurors and instruct them on processes.

Ensure all parties are present for each hearing; announce Judge’s entrance and departure and maintain decorum.

Assist with document flow from the Judge to attorneys and/or pro‑se parties.

May be assigned supervisory duties under the mentorship of a supervisor or manager, providing direction and assistance to subordinate staff.

Other duties as assigned.

Competencies / Qualifications The successful applicant should demonstrate knowledge of general office functions, cash handling procedures, project management techniques, data collection methods, research methodology, the general organizational structure of the judiciary, court monitoring procedures and equipment, and Specialty Court Programs.

Work Environment and Physical Demands Work is performed in an office or court setting. A valid driver's license and travel may be required. The schedule may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. Employees must regularly interact positively with coworkers, clients, the public, judges, and justices. Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED.

Experience: Three (3) years administrative, clerical, or related field experience, including computers, data processing, and cash handling.

Additional post‑secondary education may substitute for up to one (1) year of experience (30 semester hours = 1 year).

Certification: New Mexico Court Monitor certification may be requested.
