About the Role GEICO’s Commercial Insurance line is growing, and we are looking for a Commercial Physical Damage Unit Manager with heavy commercial experience who is highly motivated, detail oriented, and will lead a team of adjusters in the handling, negotiation, and settlement of Commercial Physical Damage claims. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully driving results, helping others, and building a positive work environment and culture within their team.
Responsibilities Primary responsibilities include:
Servicing heavy commercial, semi-trucks, cargo, and other specialty claims.
Leading a team of adjusters to meet or exceed team goals and maintain high claim quality.
Ensuring claims are handled in accordance with state guidelines and company policies.
Managing the settlement of claims with appropriate judgment and supervision.
Encouraging associate development through coaching, feedback, and performance management.
Staying current on technical and procedural knowledge to support efficient claim handling.
Collaborating with cross‑functional stakeholders and ensuring clear communication across leadership levels.
Qualifications
Experience appraising commercial property damage claims including heavy commercial, semi‑trucks, commercial equipment, and cargo.
At least 2 years as a Commercial Physical Damage Unit Manager or Supervisor.
Strong problem‑solving, critical‑thinking, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Ability to multi‑task and problem‑solve in a fast‑paced environment.
Responsibility to ensure adjusters handle claims in accordance with state guidelines.
Ability to exercise judgment with moderate supervision in the settlement of claims.
Ability to inspire and motivate associates toward personal and professional development.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to promote a positive work environment and culture.
Eligibility to work virtually and in the field; travel to the field is required.
Can document files in a clear, concise, professional manner for written and verbal communication across leadership levels.
Must be eligible to maintain the required licenses based on state requirements.
Ability to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information.
Strong attention to detail.
Annual Salary $95,325.00 – $148,625.00 (general guideline). Multiple factors are considered to arrive at the final hourly rate/annual salary, including scope and responsibilities, experience, education, location, and market considerations.
