About Us : Engineering Design & Testing Corp. (EDT) is an employee-owned forensic engineering and technical consulting firm with 45+ years of experience serving industrial, insurance, and legal clients nationwide.
Role Summary : Lead mechanical / MEP forensic investigations, manage cases, conduct site inspections, perform root-cause analysis, assess damage, and provide objective, defensible engineering opinions. Requires a licensed P.E. with strong mechanical fundamentals, excellent communication, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Travel and physical site work required. This position is Hybrid / Remote. Candidate must reside in the US Pacific Northwest.
Key Responsibilities :
Manage cases, budgets, client communication, site visits, and deliverables.
Perform field investigations, testing, data collection, and evidence documentation.
Analyze MEP / mechanical system failures and prepare repair vs. replace evaluations.
Produce clear forensic reports and provide expert-witness support when needed.
Coordinate multidisciplinary resources and subcontractors.
Support business development, mentorship, and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications :
B.S. / M.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
4+ years forensic or relevant mechanical experience (preferred).
Active P.E. with NCEES registration; valid driver’s license.
Strong communication, analysis, organization, and conflict-resolution skills.
Proficiency with MS Office and PDF software; ability to travel.
