Overview The Construction Manager will be an integral part of a project team to modernize compressors in the natural gas industry in accordance with the client’s policies and procedures. Scope of work includes compressor modifications, supercharger installation, fin‑fan replacement, panel relocation, hyper‑fuel installation, SCADA and other electrical equipment installation, selective catalytic reduction replacement. The role requires comprehension of ASME, API, and ASTM codes and specifications, P&IDs, client specifications, inspection test plans, manufacturing procedure specifications, and the ability to apply them to the material or product being constructed.

Responsibilities

Document that all work performed by the construction contractor complies with the approved contract, specifications, applicable codes, construction drawings, and regulatory requirements in a safe, environmentally acceptable fashion.

Provide the project team with constructability consulting, drawing review, scope of work, and field visits.

Develop and maintain project staffing requirements to effectively manage construction projects.

Prepare construction project schedules and ensure field activities can be completed within the overall project framework.

Proactively monitor the site to ensure all safety rules, regulations, and procedures are practiced.

Directly interface with and attend scheduled meetings with construction contractors and site supervisor staff.

Review lifting plans for accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

Assist with determining a startup process and ensure all startup requirements are followed.

Verify that the construction contractor uses necessary resources to rectify any identified non‑conformances or deficiencies, and that all associated reports are completed and distributed.

Maintain Daily Inspection Reports (DIRs) of all significant events and unusual circumstances that occur at the site, including proper photo documentation and naming conventions.

Submit DIRs daily for review, approval, and routing.

Document that all regulatory and company requirements are being followed.

Confirm the appropriate qualifications and certifications for all construction contractor employees, resources, and equipment, including operator qualification records and calibration reports for calibrated equipment.

Ensure all required documentation and records are prepared and retained.

Monitor material controls (complete material tracking and documentation) and review completed material test reports (MTRs).

Conduct schedule review sessions on critical projects with contractor management, developing alternatives when necessary.

Conduct pre‑job meetings with inspectors, construction contractors, and the construction team to discuss requirements.

Provide assistance in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering with six (6) years of design, construction, or operations experience related to facility construction, or ten (10) years of industry experience supervising facility construction.

Strong understanding of NFPA and ASME B31.3 code.

Strong foundation in project management principles and techniques, and contract management.

Demonstrated ability in cost estimating, tracking, and scheduling techniques for capital projects.

Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.

Supervisory skills and analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.

Valid driver’s license.

Wage Data Per State Requirements Pay range for this position is $85.00 – $90.00 per hour. Starting pay will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.

Work Environment / Physical Demands

Capacity to lift 50 pounds, work in confined spaces, from elevated platforms, scaffolding, and ladders.

Typically indoor work but may require outdoor work depending on project needs.

Routine exposure to support and service areas including boiler plants, mechanical spaces, and building infrastructure, both indoors and outdoors.

May require bending, stooping, climbing, and use of ladders or other devices to access systems.
