Purpose The Journeyman Electrician assists in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment. Working under the supervision of a master electrician or foreman, the position plays a vital role in ensuring smooth operations and compliance with electrical codes and regulations.
Description As an apprentice, the Journeyman Electrician works with tools, machinery, and materials, following established safety protocols. The role requires a deep understanding of the trade, including regulations, industry standards, and best practices. The individual provides technical guidance, supports quality control, communicates effectively with team members, manages time efficiently, and embraces continuous learning and professional development.
Duties & Responsibilities
Perform operational tasks related to the trade, using tools and following safety protocols.
Apply technical knowledge of regulations, standards, and best practices.
Ensure quality control, inspecting and testing materials and components.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and clients.
Manage time efficiently, meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks.
Pursue continuous learning through training, workshops, and conferences.
Requirements / Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications preferred.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in the trade, with hands‑on exposure to various aspects of the work.
Strong technical skills, attention to detail, problem‑solving abilities, and solid safety protocol understanding.
Physical fitness to perform demanding tasks.
Ability to obtain and maintain necessary credentials and licenses.
Opportunity for advancement to foreman, supervisor, or project manager positions.
