Full-time, non‑exempt. Work location: Naval Base Ventura County, Port Hueneme, CA. Pay: $33.26/hr plus $7.20/hr health benefits through Union. Responsibilities
Perform maintenance on marine engines and subsystems for seaborne target systems (QST A/B/I, FACT, HSMST, SDST). Assist higher‑level technicians with building, replacing components, troubleshooting systems, and repairing simple machinery equipment. Operate and be qualified in forklift operations, overhead crane operations, marine travel lift, and other target‑specific equipment. Maintain equipment logs, maintenance action forms, and work‑time tracking sheets. Qualify and maintain Portable Command and Control Unit (PCCU) Remote Control Operator (RCO) certification if required. Follow preventative maintenance programs using technical service manuals and schematic charts for marine engines and related equipment. Work outdoors on shore and afloat on even or uneven surfaces, in a seaborne environment with shift work and remote locations. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or specialized training required. Two to four years of experience in performing the stated functions may replace education. Basic understanding of computer networking and MS Office. Strong knowledge of testing mechanical systems and components to ensure functionality per procedures defined in technical manuals. Correct and safe use of hand tools, power tools, and engine and electronic test equipment. Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals and technical data to determine repair or replacement methods. Minimum USCG 100‑ton credential desired (not required). Current California driver’s license required; must be insured through the company’s vehicle insurance policy. U.S. citizenship required; must obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. Background screening including SSN, driver record, and criminal background investigation. Benefits
