Extrusion Line Technician – Hose Manufacturing
Join Teknor Apex Company as an Extrusion Line Technician. Your pay is based on skills and experience.
Base Pay Range $17.00/hr – $21.00/hr
Day at Teknor Apex On the production floor, you prepare your area, bring the extrusion line up to specified run conditions, and keep quality tight by pulling and reviewing samples. You run the line at target speeds, document with precision, and partner with your crew leader to address safety, mechanical, or process issues.
Responsibilities
Maintain a clean, orderly workstation.
Hold product to established quality standards and production requirements.
Pull, evaluate, and record samples as needed.
Operate primary production equipment and all auxiliary systems tied to your area.
Run within set operating parameters and sustain maximum safe line speeds and throughput.
Complete all production and QC records accurately and in full.
Communicate promptly with the crew leader/shift supervisor about safety, mechanical, or operational concerns.
Document actions for receiving, QC, and assigned paperwork.
Support additional tasks and priorities assigned by the crew leader or supervisor.
Training/Relief Operator
Cover operators during breaks and assist with changeovers and process issues.
Troubleshoot most routine operational problems.
Share clear instructions and help train teammates when needed.
What you bring
Comfort reading and writing notes on production reports; communications in English with legible handwriting and proper grammar.
Ability to read and follow SOPs and Hose Specifications per batch cards/run conditions.
Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
Valid forklift operator skill.
Physical Realities of the Role
Handle machine parts up to 50 lbs.
Move/control garden hose reels up to 1,200 lbs, up to 50 times per shift.
Remove and reassemble tooling using basic hand tools; perform routine mechanical tasks.
Work in summer conditions up to 15°F above outside temperatures.
Demonstrate agility for bending, stooping, and lifting hose, tools, and related items, up to 25 times per shift.
Schedule and Teamwork This is a full‑time, on‑site role in a team‑based manufacturing environment. Consistent, on‑time attendance is critical. Mandatory overtime may be required.
