Description
The DPA Engineer leads and performs Destructive Physical Analysis (MIL-STD-1580) on microelectronic components, ensuring that the internal construction, workmanship, materials, and structural integrity meet mission‑critical requirements. This role demands a highly technical engineer with 5-10 years of hands‑on DPA experience and the ability to work autonomously, make clear technical judgments, and uphold AAA's uncompromising quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities Destructive Physical Analysis Execution
Plan, execute, and document DPA per MIL-STD-1580, including but not limited to:
External and internal visual inspections
Cross‑sectioning
Decapsulation
Delidding
Material evaluation
Die inspection, bond evaluation, and metallurgical review
Evaluate device construction for workmanship, contamination, anomalies, and reliability risks.
Technical Investigation & Reporting
Interpret microelectronic construction against relevant MIL-STDs and OEM specifications.
Produce high‑clarity, technically authoritative engineering reports (with images, measurements, and conclusions).
Provide root‑cause insights for anomalies, suspect parts, or counterfeit indicators.
Lab Ownership & Process Control
Maintain DPA lab tools, consumables, and safety procedures.
Support development of new test methods and improved processes.
Ensure full compliance with ISO9001/AS9100, ISO/IEC 17025, and ESD requirements.
Customer & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Participate in technical discussions with customers regarding findings, risks, and recommendations.
Support Sales and Program Management with DPA scope definition and quoting.

Cross‑section equipment
Metallurgical microscopes
Chemical etching
Mechanical polishing
Experience writing formal engineering reports for defense/aerospace customers.
