Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Contractor Healthcare Construction Superintendent to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of construction projects from inception to completion. We are seeking a candidate with previous ground up Hospital or free‑standing Emergency Room experience that is familiar with local government entities and their requirements.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have
A bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
At least ten years of experience in the healthcare construction industry, overseeing all aspects of ground‑up projects in hospitals, medical clinics, facilities, and labs
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders
A Construction OSHA 30 within the last 5 years or ability to renew
ICRA certification and familiarity with local government entities
Proficient in project reporting software, MS Office, and blueprint reading
Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, air flow standards, and quality standards
Problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities, with a proactive and results‑oriented approach
A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various job sites
Requirements
Leadership: ability to supervise and lead the team.
Organization: schedule and supervise multi‑tasking work of a multi‑member team.
Experience: proven knowledge in commercial building and construction and related sectors.
Scope of Work: experience with running all aspects of large commercial projects from inception to profitable completion, including large ground‑up projects, interior renovation, finish work, and relocation/replacement work on projects costing $2 M or more.
Safety: Superintendent Level 3 required, must possess a valid OSHA 30 card at all times.
Problem‑solving: demonstrate good problem‑solving skills.
Communication: excellent communication with team, Project Manager and Customer.
Computer Skills: computer literate, experience with Microsoft Office and Procore.
OSHA‑30 training required and recertification every 5 years per Marand policy.
Minimum education: High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree preferred.
Experience: minimum of 5–10 years on the job.
Travel: up to 75% travel required.
Responsibilities
Enforcing safety compliance (OSHA and Marand safety plan and policies) and advocating for safety is the number one priority.
Supervise the construction effort in the field to ensure the project is completed in accordance with design, budget, schedule, and customer objectives.
Conduct weekly on‑site meetings with subcontractors, vendors, and others as appropriate regarding schedule, security issues, and other matters.
Enforce compliance with all project procedures, safety program requirements, and work rules.
Supervise and ensure the health and safety of workers by enforcing all company, state, and federal guidelines.
Prepare and distribute field reports in a timely manner (daily superintendent’s reports, safety reports, etc.).
Complete punch list items in a time frame consistent with the customer’s requirements and the project budget. Procore for punch list management.
Monitor and direct subcontractor progress and ensure adequate manpower to meet project schedule and expectations.
Prepare subcontractor work schedules and provide input to the Project Manager for construction schedules.
Verify all layouts and check subcontractors’ layouts; establish initial control lines and grades.
Respond to subcontractors with clarity regarding project documents and work; coordinate with Construction Manager as appropriate.
Participate in pre‑construction planning, including logistics, methods, bid and scope reviews, and project estimates.
Maintain an up‑to‑date set of contract documents on site.
Ensure subcontractors maintain record drawings (“red line as‑builds”) during construction.
Maintain the organization, establishment, and maintenance of the on‑site field office to project a professional image.
Communicate timely with the Construction Manager on financial, safety, progress, labor, material, quality, code issues, etc.
Interface and work harmoniously with Project Managers and other personnel.
Provide training and act as a mentor to other Superintendent levels.
Work with other Superintendents on larger projects.
Continue education in areas including OSHA and safety, methods, codes, management skills, new technology, etc.
Maintain current Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification.
Maintain current knowledge of the permit process in the communities where performing work and communicate changes to office.
Ensure overall cleanliness of the jobsite to Marand’s standards.
Physical Demands
Work at a construction site indoors and outdoors.
Working hours may be extended to meet deadlines.
Ability to work night shifts.
Dexterity to operate a company iPad, phone, and other business machines.
Regularly required to sit, stand and walk (20% sitting, 40% walking, 40% standing).
Includes crawling, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching.
Talk or hear.
Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
May require climbing permanent and temporary stairs, use of hoists, climbing ladders, and negotiating work areas under construction.
Work Environment The job is performed indoors in a variety of settings, including the office, interior building job sites, and job sites outside. Employees may be exposed to wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high or hazardous areas, fumes or airborne particles, weather, extreme cold or heat, toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical shock, vibration. Noise may be loud. Personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, vest) and safety gear (clothing, shoes, gloves) are required on job sites.
