Co‑op Program Details The Landis+Gyr Co‑op program is designed to enhance the quality and scope of learning by providing students with the option of integrating academic study with related, work‑based learning. Applicants must be enrolled in the undergraduate program and available for an alternating rotating semester schedule. Master’s level students will not be considered. The rotation begins in Summer 2026 for the 3‑semester rotation and the student will be working full‑time hours Monday through Friday on‑site at our Lafayette, IN location. Expected graduation date should be in 2028 or later to allow enough time for 3 working semesters alternating with 3 school semesters. This is a paid position but we don’t offer housing assistance, so candidates local to the Lafayette, IN area are preferred.
Student Objectives/Responsibilities
mTAMs (Mechanical Tooling Asset Management System) Excel template update and data coordination.
Power query and MS BI dashboard development.
Component inspection data analysis.
Development of online manufacturing assembly systems.
Simulation of robotics in manufacturing.
Development of AI‑based vision inspection equipment applied to manufacturing.
Review and storage of CAD tooling models for new molds.
CAD‑based CNC simulation machining.
CAD‑based mold flow simulation.
Project status verification and manufacturer process verification.
Tester equipment dismantling—disassemble old test equipment for reuse, repurposing, or recycling.
Soldering of through‑hole components for test fixture cards.
Material validations.
Instron testing of plastics and aluminum castings.
Electrical live‑load testing of assemblies.
Lifetime 30,000‑cycle testing.
Development of an NPI build request form for NPI builds in Reynosa, Mexico, including the PT Lab.
Education/Experience Co‑op applicants must be undergraduate students working toward their Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with an expected graduation date in 2028 or later.
