COMPA Industries is searching for qualified candidates for a
Principal Construction Coordinator
position supporting
Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS)
in
Aiken, South Carolina .
Base pay range:
$70.00/hr - $80.00/hr
Work Schedule:
Full-time, Day Shift
Clearance:
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance

Minimum
11–13 years of construction experience
supporting complex industrial or nuclear projects (or equivalent experience per education substitution)
Demonstrated experience managing
technical, cost, and schedule baselines
for construction projects or maintenance work
Proven ability to coordinate across
construction, project controls, engineering, procurement, and DOE stakeholders
Strong knowledge of
construction planning, subcontract management, and constructability reviews

Impact The Principal Construction Coordinator plays a
critical leadership role
in ensuring complex construction projects and maintenance work are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with approved technical, cost, and schedule baselines. This position serves as the primary construction management representative on the project team and is instrumental in delivering DOE mission‑critical work.
Responsibilities and Duties
Represent Construction Management on project teams for complex projects and work authorizing documents (WADs)
Own and manage
technical, cost, and schedule baselines
for assigned construction projects and CMOs
Coordinate scope development, estimate preparation, schedule validation, and construction planning
Interface with:
Facility management for scope, estimates, and funding approvals
Project controls and construction execution teams for planning and performance tracking
Review labor and material cost reports; identify positive and negative variances and implement corrective actions
Validate constructability of scope, schedules, and estimates prior to baseline approval
Perform comprehensive reviews of preliminary scope, designs, schedules, and estimates
Identify risks and potential issues impacting project baselines and proactively resolve them
Interface with DOE, project management, design, procurement, field management, and superintendents to achieve milestones safely and cost‑effectively
Support development and enhancement of subcontract management programs in response to DOE directives
Minimum Qualifications Education & Experience (one of the following):
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline +
11–13 years
of construction experience
Associate degree +
13–15 years
of construction experience
High school diploma +
15–18 years
of construction experience
Experience Requirements
In‑depth knowledge of
construction costs, scheduling, and execution strategies
Strong understanding of
project management and tactical‑level project planning
Experience with construction subcontracts, startup, maintenance, or large project execution
Ability to evaluate constructability and communicate effectively with design authorities
Security
Must be able to obtain and maintain a
DOE “Q” security clearance
Active clearance not required at time of hire
Desired Skills
Prior possession of an active DOE
“L” or “Q” clearance
within the past 2 years
Experience supporting
DOE/NNSA construction projects
Familiarity with
ASME codes and B31.3 pressure boundary systems
Strong constructability review expertise
Experience with:
Glovebox fabrication, alignment, and assembly
Project startup, system turnover, and operational readiness
Strong cross‑functional communication and issue resolution skills
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered as outlined above. DOE/NNSA construction experience is
strongly preferred .
