Major/Essential Functions
Develops project estimates for research related construction, new construction, and renovation projects totaling $500k and above for Texas Tech University.
Performs technical and market studies for building and construction projects and conducts economic analysis as necessary to develop budget costs, project scopes, justifications, and estimates.
Utilizes a variety of costing models and software including RS Means, Gordian, historic market information, etc. to develop conceptual construction estimates within an established timeframe.
Develops design budgets to facilitate the design phase of the project(s) and provides quantity take offs to assist project managers, vendors, and various stakeholders adhere to the project design and estimated budget.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, or Interior Design or related field plus three years experience in large project management. An advanced degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Extensive experience utilizing costing models and software (i.e. RS Means, Gordian, etc.).
Understands higher education, institutional, or government pricing models and requirements for new construction and renovations.
Extensive experience in reading construction plans and developing hard project estimates and quantity take offs.
Experience in reading design scope narratives and developing comprehensive conceptual project budgets.
Working with staff designers to collaboratively develop key feasibility factors for potential projects.
Experience in compiling and maintaining a historical record of estimates and actual project costs.
Safety Information Adherence to robust safety practices and compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations are responsibilities of all TTU employees.
