Project Superintendent
to lead daily onsite operations, coordinate subcontractors, maintain quality and safety standards, and keep projects moving on schedule.
This is a hands‑on field leadership role with clear growth potential toward Project Management.
Key Responsibilities
Be fully present on the jobsite during all active work.
Lead and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field crews.
Maintain accurate daily documentation (logs, photos, schedules, as‑builts).
Enforce Hickory's Safety Policy for all workers and visitors.
Monitor progress daily; report schedule and subcontractor issues to PM.
Lead subcontractor progress meetings and record attendance and notes.
Track material and equipment use; approve and manage Purchase Orders when assigned.
Resolve field conflicts quickly to avoid delays or rework.
Assist with mockups, samples, and milestone deliverables.
Maintain a full understanding of drawings, specifications, timelines, and standards.
Keep detailed records of all site visitors and interactions.
Support budget review updates with Project Managers.
Step in to perform physical work when needed to keep projects on track.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Valid driver's license
Construction experience, including blueprint reading and permitting
Minimum 6 months as Project Superintendent 1 (or equivalent)
Strong communication and leadership skills
Proficient with Excel, Word, MS Office, MS Project, and web tools
Procore Project Manager Certification (or ability to obtain)
Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
Certifications
OSHA 30 and CPR – must be completed within 12 months of hire.
Physical Requirements
Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Work on roofs, ladders, and elevated platforms with PPE
Navigate crawlspaces, attics, and tight construction areas
Work outdoors year‑round in Tennessee climate
Stand for long periods
20/40 natural or corrected vision
